Cute Fall Candy Jars
Repurpose those Starbucks Frappuccino bottles into adorable Fall candy jars for yourself or to give away! I have been making different versions of these for YEARS. I have used them as co-worker gifts, BUNCO prizes, Baby Shower prizes and for myself as well! The idea is so versatile, it can be customized to use whatever supplies you have on hand and for whatever occasion you choose.

First, enjoy you a Starbucks Frappuccino and then remove the stickers. You can remove the glue residue with Dawn Powerwash. Just spray it on and let it sit a few minutes. Then use a dish brush and scrub it off under hot, running water. There is also an ink stamp that can be easily scrubbed off with a steel wool or SOS pad. Put your bottle through the dishwasher and make sure it dries completely.
Next you will need to gather your supplies.
Supplies:
- 2 1/2″ ribbon. I used unwired burlap ribbon (from the Dollar General.) You can use wired, just pull the wire out.
- Jute twine (mine is from the Dollar Tree.)
- Scissors
- CANDY!!! Whatever you choose, it will need to be able to fit easily through the bottle opening. I used a mix of regular and peanut M&Ms in one jar and a candy corn/ pretzel mix in the other. There are some really cute Fall themed candies out right now. I tried to get the “Goul mix” M&Ms, but they were out. There are also Hersey’s Kisses with Fall themed wrappers that would be really cute.
- Optional: scrapbook paper and circle punch
Assembly:

- 1st: Cut a piece of your ribbon long enough to wrap around your bottle and overlap a bit.
- 2nd: Use your hot glue to adhere your ribbon to the jar. Use a bit under the front and under the overlap at the back. If using burlap, use finger protectors because the hot glue will go right through that burlap (speaking from experience!!)
- 3rd: Adhere your embellishment to the front of the burlap with hot glue.
- 4th: Tie a long piece (or two pieces) of twine (18-24″) at the top and tie in a bow.
- 5th: Optional. Use a paper punch to cut a circle out of scrapbook paper to glue on top of the bottle lid. A 1 3/4″ punch will cover the whole lid and a 1″ will cover the center Starbucks logo. You can also use ink around to edge of the paper. This step is totally optional. You could also spray paint the lid or leave it untouched.
- Lastly: Fill your bottle with candy. I recommend using a funnel.
That’s it! It’s such a fast, easy project and comes out really cute.
Here are some jars I made several years ago using burlap and felt sunflowers. These were part of my BUNCO prizes when it was my turn to host. These candy jars would also make great gifts for teachers, co-workers, secret sisters etc… as well a gift basket item. Another great use would be prizes for games. They would be perfect party or shower favors and also good for a “guess how many” game. Then you could use the candy jar as a prize as well!
